They were some sort of crow/raven like bird. I'm guessing crow since I
didn't think we had ravens around here. They were quite smart in
building their nest right at the edge of a drop off facing the ocean.
With the strong ocean winds causing updrafts there, I'm guessing they
could just spread their wings & be flying without any real effort.

I believe they are ravens, which are common all over California. These birds
were not acting like any crows I've see.
